Prior to joining Ackerman & Ackerman, Robert gained extensive litigation and courtroom experience as a law clerk in both state and federal courts, at trial and appellate levels. He served for over two years as a law clerk to Justice Brian K. Zahra on the Michigan Supreme Court and was the sole law clerk to Chief Justice Annette K. Ziegler on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Robert also clerked two years for Judge Robert H. Cleland on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. During that time, Robert worked on numerous complex commercial cases, including contract, property, and constitutional law disputes.
In 2016, Robert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Michigan, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and as a James B. Angell Scholar. While at Michigan, he was the student manager and a practice player for the 2015 Big Ten Championship baseball team. Returning to Michigan for law school on a Dean’s Scholarship, he earned his Juris Doctor in 2019 with honors. During law school, Robert served as the Articles Editor and Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law and received a Certificate of Merit Award for his classroom achievements.
Robert has obtained admission to the State Bar of Michigan and the State Bar of California.
